My biggest focus and enjoyment comes from film watching and film making. I found myself watching movies to pass time or to spend it with my family, and the more this became a habit the more I started appreciating it as an art form. Now there are many films that I have always appreciated for their textured and satisfying sounds. I vividly remember the sound of Jango Fett’s seismic charge sound from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones being one of the first sounds to stand out to my ears. Then later the 2010 version of Tron: Legacy having some of my most appreciated and satisfying soundtracks. But it was only recently after watching Dennis Villeneuve’s first Dune that made me consider sound design as a career. I had not seen the first adaptation but I had read the book and being able to hear sounds that I had imagined whilst reading come to life in the cinema (for example the ornithopter), made me think: why not be able to create compositions of sound that can make me excited just by their existence, as a career?
